Mounted in front of the lower beam of the free chimney, the so-called potter’s-shelf was loaded by the housewife with beautifully glazed silks and mugs – the most beautiful ones that could be found in her household. These objects also “survived” the modernization of kitchen utensils and the appearance of enamel objects, but since then they have performed almost exclusively a representational function, as the visitor first sees these objects when entering the house.
