1. Barge. The barge carved from an oak tree is the ancient watercraft of Lake Balaton. It is a great rarity in collections, as it was replaced at the end of the 19th century by the so-called Komárom board-boats. Its widespread use in Transdanubia is evidenced by a newspaper article published in the Veszprémi Napló in the 1960s, which reports that one of the blades got stuck in an interesting piece of wood during reaping in the meadows around Várpalota. The staff of the Bakony Museum (the predecessor of the Dezső Laczkó Museum) at that time lifted an almost intact barge from the former lake, which had become a meadow.
