48. Tea-box. Tea was mostly used as medicine in Hungarian peasant culture. Teas were made of local herbs, flowers and leaves. Women in Tihany collected the herbs still covered with dew at dawn on Saint Anna’s Day (26th July), as it was believed this makes them more efficient. Imported tea-leaves spread thank to the holidaymakers from the capital.
